Job Purpose
To analyse operations, design workflows and production processes, reduce inefficiency, and ensure that final products meet the established quality standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Production Management
- Reviewing production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
- Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Developing and implementing process improvements and technological upgrades.
- Designing control systems to minimize costs and production issues.
- Developing design and production standards in cooperation with management and user personnel.
- Preparing material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
- Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
Quality Control
- Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.
Personnel Management
- Assess operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
- Training staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.
- Direct workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
Data Management
- Formulate sampling procedures, designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
Vendor Management
- Complete purchase orders, and material, tool, and equipment lists.
- Schedule deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities, and maintenance requirements
- Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.
Monitoring and Reporting Status
- Managing process documentation and preparing production reports.
Technical Skills

- Documentation and organization skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
Qualification and Experience
- BSc Engineering or BEng (Industrial) is essential
- Certifications – ECSA Candidate Engineer
- 0 – 4 years’ relevant or related business
Other Requirements
- Drivers Licence and own transport
- Travel >50% of the time
